Winter Solstice: Light up the Green Bay Trail

6th Annual Winter Solstice Parade of Lights Decorate yourself, family, dogs, strollers or wagons with lights and things that glow. No candles or open flames, please! Meet at the Shelton Park playground for a surprise presentation then stroll the Green Bay trail to sing songs and celebrate the arrival of longer days.  Festivities will end at the Shelton Park fire pit to enjoy hot chocolate and refreshments. In celebration of Earth Day, join us as we clean up Glencoe parks and the lakefront! On Saturday, April 23, we’ll meet at 10 AM at various sites for a community clean-up. This event is cosponsored by the Friends of the Green Bay Trail, Glencoe Park District, and the Glencoe Sustainability Task Force. Volunteers must register in advance and sign a waiver. Lend a Hand on the Green Bay Trail

Meet at the Mary Street entrance to the trail at 9 AM, work until 11AM. We will share the work plan there. No training needed. Dress for the weather and trail conditions. Wear closed toe shoes. Bring work gloves and pruners if you have some. We will not cancel the day for sprinkles, but will do so for heavy rain or other weather conditions
