We’ve had to modify our plans for this Saturday, May 16. We will meet at the Maple & Ash Street access on the Trail. Parking will be along Ash Street. Unchanged is our plan to work on restoring a site along the Winnetka Section. We will be preparing the site by removing the dense stands […]

Grubbing out small buckthorn, honeysuckle, and winter creeper. Removing Asiatic lilies. Scattering new seeds for grasses and forbs. Planting plugs of young plants. Pulling weeds.
Plugs of young plants are set in pre-drilled holes in the areas prepared around the cottage on the sides and in the front. No-mow grass seed is scattered in the back. Small bushes and trees are planted in a few areas. Weeds are removed. In the rear, buckthorn and honeysuckle are removed.
