Along the trail from Shelton Park to Scott Ave. certain species of seed heads, with short stalks, are cut and collected into large bags. Sessions are planned as the seed heads of each species become developed and dried enough to provide viable seeds.
Removal of new buckthorn sprouts. Removal of weeds, non-native plants. Thinning sections which are crowded by single species.Deadheading to balance species. Removing garbage and fallen branches near or on the trail.
Cleaning along the trail. Trimming bushes and trees with low branches over the trail. Cutting in each station area and around benches. Setting station markers for each station. Setting up signage.
