Lynn and her husband, Cam Avery, live beside the trail in the “green house” they built in 2007. She delights in the activity of the trail and the beauty of its woodland borders. She is on the Board of the Illinois chapter of the Nature Conservancy, tutors in a literacy program in Rogers Park, and plays the viola da gamba (early music).
