6th Annual Green Bay Trail Day
Saturday, July 26 from 9 am – 1 pm

TRAIL DAY MAP (coming in mid-July)

  • Enjoy the Trail’s summer blooms, birds and butterflies along the restored paths.
  • Families and kids: Enjoy crafts and story time with the Glencoe Library. Try your hand at the bee toss. View the Trails’ insects with a bug box from the Friends of the Bay Trail.
  • Watch Plein Air Painters capture the beauty of the Trail’s blooms.
  • Stop by the Recyclery Mobile bike shop sponsored by the Glencoe Park District. Learn how to tune up your bike. Meet other bike organizations and enthusiasts.
  • Look for the juggler along the trail.
  • Adopt a Pet: See pets available for adoption from Wright-Way Rescue.
  • Music: Tap your toes or sing along to music on the trail.
  • Gardeners and Nature lovers: Obtain expert advice on sustainable gardening, buckthorn removal, native plants and tree selections. Collect sustainable gardening resources. Find how to join the Homegrown National Park. Take home free tree saplings.
  • Butterflies and bird enthusiasts: Visit the butterfly hatchery to watch the metamorphosis of butterflies, chat with Audubon representatives for birding tips and programs.
  • Environmentalists: Learn how to make a difference. Collect sustainability information and connect with local organizations.
  • History Buffs: Discover the North Shore’s history with Glencoe and Winnetka Historical Society representatives. Learn why the North Shore Train line’s tracks were moved. Find the remnants of Glencoe’s early train station stops.
  • Discover the Fairy houses hidden among the trees, wildflowers and prairie grasses.
  • Fill a free Friends of the Green tote bag with Green Bay Trail Day’s free information and resources.
